ATV Moose Hunting Special

This special hunt is only once a year for one to two hunters. This hunt was offered for the first time in 2003, was hunted again in 2004 and is already booked for 2005. This hunt gives the hunter a wilderness area without the cost of an aircraft access. But there is one thing to remember is that the hunters must bring their own ATV’s for transportation. The tent camp and other equipment are supplied by the Outfitter.

This Moose hunt is operated in a new area of the hunting territory. The access into this remote area is by ATV only and then hiking the numerous sub alpine meadows be low the Sibola Mountain Range. There are miles of meadows to hunt and during the “Moose Rut” there are some big Bull Moose roaming these meadows and the surrounding forest.

We take our clients out by hiking and waiting for the Moose to move out of the forest into the open meadows to feed or travel through. We hunt the morning and afternoons with a mid-day break back at camp for lunch and relaxation before heading out in the afternoon to dark. Once a Moose is taken, we will skin the animal out and quarter him to bring him back to camp by ATV. In camp we will hang the quarter up to cool out. The quarters will be bagged for the travel out of the area and back to our base. We do not waste anything; all is brought back to our base for the hunter to take home with him. We have taken Moose in both 2003 and 2005 and I know this area with very little pressure will be very successful in the coming years.

A true Wilderness Area accessible by ATV’s only.
