Rum Lake Moose Hunting Special

This is an exclusive Moose hunt that is only offered one a year to one or two hunters. Hunters who book this hunt know that they are the only hunters that will be hunting this area and provides the opportunity to take a trophy class Bull Moose. The area is a fly-in only access to Rum Lake. Tent camp for accommodations and a canoe for transportation. We take our hunters hiking or traveling by canoe on the lake to access the meadows along the lake. The meadows are extensive and parts of them extend right down to the lake shore. There is also the opportunity to see Moose walking along the lake shore and feeding. Once a Moose is taken, we bring the meat and antlers back to camp to be hung up and await the return of the float plane. Hunters should be able to hike up to four miles or five miles a day and willing to sleeping in a tent camp situation. The tent camp is a wall tent with a kerosene heater for warmth, portable propane camp stove for cooking, fold-out cots for sleeping on and propane lanterns for light. A cook keeps the coffee on and the meals prepared.

We hunt the mornings and afternoons with a mid-day break back at camp for lunch and relaxation while we watch the lake shore for Moose or do a little fishing for wild Cutthroat Trout. The lake is located near the base of the coastal mountains, a very beautiful area.
