Nanny Lake Operation is the most remote area of our Guiding Territory. It is only accessible by float plane, and travel on the small lake is by canoe.
This is one of our tent camp operations. We set up a tent camp on the shore of Little Nanny Lake in full view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The tent camp has a sleeping tent with a kerosene heater for warmth, portable propane cooking stove, cots and propane lights. We also have a camp fire for warmth outside while we watch for Moose traveling along the lake shore. The cook keeps the fires going and the coffee pot ready, plus prepares all meals.
This area is small and we only take one hunter per year to hunt this area. This keeps the success rate high and the hunter knows he is the only one to hunt this area in the year. This is a true wilderness setting and an area that very few people have ever seen. Once the Moose is taken we skin him out and transport the quarters back to camp to be hung up and cooled. All the meat and antlers are flown out to our base for the hunter to take home with him. If there is a day or two left at the end of the hunt, we usually hike up to the glacier-filled valley to view and take pictures or just relax and enjoy the pristine area.
This hunt is already booked for 2005 and 2006.
