Note: To facilitate easy printing this list may be downloaded by clicking either link below;


CLOTHING (outer clothing should be made of quit material)
  • Socks, should have a light synthetic sock and a wool sock over them (1 pair of each type for every two days)
  • Underwear/briefs and undershirt( 1 pair for every two days)
  • Long underwear tops and bottoms—fleece or wool (one or two pair)
  • Pants—wool or fleece for hunting in ( two pair) and pants to wear around camp (one or two pair) No blue jeans for hunting in, please
  • Shirts—wool or fleece for hunting in (two long sleeve) and one or two shirts to wear around camp. No light colored shirts on Mountain Goat hunts.
  • Gloves (Two pair) - windblock fleece or wool
  • Hat (one light ball cap and one stocking cap type)
  • Raingear—Top and bottoms—fleece type only (NO nylon raingear for Goat hunting)
  • Jacket—Wool or Fleece (Fleece is best)
  • Vest—Down or Fleece
  • Handkerchiefs (optional) Two to Four
  • Travel Cloths for the trip to our base and home again.
FOOTWEAR (Very important, you do not soar feet and can not walk)
  • Boots ( one or two pair) high quality waterproof w/new laces and well treated/greased if leather. Goretex boots is what we recommend. Please have vibra sole boots, not air-bob soles, specially for Goat hunts. Do not bring new boots without breaking them in first.
  • Camp shoes—to wear around camp. Get out of those boots and let the sweat dry and air out.
  • Goretex Socks or Seal Skins—These are great if your boots are wet and you can not get them dry or they have a hole in them.
  • Blister Kit (moleskin, Band-Aid Blister covers and/or athletic tape) Protect your feet, they are your transportation during the hunt.
SLEEPING
  • Sleeping Bag ( light for cabin sleeping and heavier for tent camping) Mummy style if you can stand them or square bottom style. A fleece sleeping bag liner is nice to have.
  • Pillow—and a pillow case
  • Waterproof stuff sack to transport the sleeping bag. A wet bag is no fun to sleep in.
  • Ear Plugs—you hunting partner and/or Guide may sore.
PERSONAL ITEMS
  • Tooth brush, tooth paste and dental floss.
  • Soap—liquid is best (no-scent hair and body)
  • Lip balm w/SPF 10 minimum
  • Bath Towel and Wash Cloth. (we do not supply)
  • Deodorant (non scented)
  • Babywipes or Wet-ones (Ideal for a quick clean up of all body parts)
  • Prescription medication (very important, bring enough for the whole trip)
  • Glasses or contacts (bring an extra pair, they are easy to loose in the bush, lake or river.)
  • Advil or Aspirin for minor aches and pains.
  • Band-aids, medical tape and antibiotic cream.
  • Athletic Foot/ Jock Itch cream (you decide if you need this)
  • Nail Clippers
  • Sun Block (important for fair skin)
  • Disposable razor ( do not bring an electric razor for fly in camps)
  • Small note pad and pencil/pen. (optional)
  • Specialty food/snacks/gum
HUNTING EQUIPMENT
  • Daypack—make of fleece type material, can be used as a carry on bag with the airlines.
  • Binoculars—waterproof (minimum of 7 power and 30 mm objective)
  • Lens cloth– to clean binoculars and camera lens.
  • A hunting knife– a compact one is ideal and should be in sharp consition
  • A knife sharpener.
  • Hard weapon case (for commercial flights) can be left at base camp.
  • Light weight soft weapon case (for flight on the float plane) Not need for non fly-in hunts.
  • Rifle with scope (Bolt action preferred) Please no semi automatics, to much noise with loading.
  • Rifle sling and scope covers.
  • 1 to 2 boxes of shells and nylon shell holder. (Premium factory loads preferred)
  • Acu-Sight Laser Bore-sight for your caliber (optional)
  • Compact cleaning rod w/brush and patch end.
  • Cotton patches (1 to 2 dozen)
  • Bore cleaner and Gun Oil.
  • Wrench for tightening scope mounts and stock screws.
  • Rubber glove finger tips cut to fit the rifle barrel (keeps barrel opening clear of debris and dirt.
  • Range Finder—highly recommended
  • Fishing pole and reel and lures. (This is not an option in all locations, ask your outfitter)
  • Trekking pole—highly recommended on Mountain Goat hunts.
  • Safety Blanket (light weight and foil type) Recommended on Goat hunts.
MISCELLANEOUS
  • Camera—compact w/extra batteries and waterproof case, more cameras sit in camp as the batteries died the first day of the hunt.. Recommend digital.
  • Film or extra memory cards.
  • Flashlight and /or headlamp w/extra batteries and bulbs.
  • 1 liter or quart size water bottle. Recommended on Goat hunts.
  • Matches in waterproof container and a butane lighter.
  • Bug repellent—Deet is best
  • Sunglasses with head strap.
  • Ziploc Bags (4 or 5 1 gallon size.)
  • Airline Tickets, Passport/ID, Firearms permit, Wallet, Credit Card and Contact number list.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  1. For the commercial flight, pack your gun in a lockable hard plastic or metal case. Remove the bolt and along with the ammunition, place these items in your luggage. Gun hunters should bring a soft gun case to transfer their firearm for the float plane flight into the back country. Hard case can be left at the base camp.
  2. For the commercial flight, pack all your gear into one large duffel bag (40 to 50 pounds) and one carry-on daypack. (around 15 to 25 pounds) The total weight of all equipment should be 60 to 70 pounds. If you are bringing a backpack, put it inside your large duffle for protection.
  3. If you or anyone in your group are diabetic, let us know, so we can modify the menu. Also if the person uses needles, we need to dispose of them properly. Make sure you bring enough medicine.
  4. If you or your partner is color blind, let your guide know, as it maybe more difficult for the hunter to see wildlife in certain
  5. If you or your partner has allergies, please bring medicine for it. Also let us know about any foods you are allergic to.
  6. Camo or blaze orange color clothing is NOT required by law in British Columbia. We recommend camo clothing for any of our hunts.
