The Collins Lake Hunting Operation.
The Collins Lake Operation is accessible by road. We operate our spring Black Bear and Grizzly Bear Hunts from this area. We usually operate in this area during June for the later Black Bear Hunts as the weather is warmer at our base. The weather around Collins Lake is cooler due to its proximity to the snow-covered coastal mountains. In the fall, we hunt Moose in this area to spread out our hunting pressure as this is a good place to take Moose moving out of the back country into their wintering range.
The cabin sits on a point over looking Collins Lake. This is where we catch the float plane trips into the back country. Collins Lake is about 40 miles by road from our base. The cabin has three rooms. The bedroom will sleep up to four persons; the semi-private sleeping area will sleep up to two persons. The large room is a combination kitchen, dinning room and sitting room. There is a porch to sit and enjoy the evening while listening to the Loons calling on the lake, or spend the evening sitting around the warm camp fire. An outdoor toilet is available. The cabin has a wood heater for warmth and drying clothes, propane lights, stove and fridge. We also have a portable propane heat on demand shower unit for use during the stay. The cabin is a comfortable place to stay, while hunting.
